Dr. Sara de Sousa

Dr. Sara de Sousa holds a PhD in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP), a Master's degree in Psychiatry and Mental Health from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), and a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from the School of Health of the Polytechnic University of Porto (E2S P.PORTO). She also holds a postgraduate qualification in Health Services Management and Leadership from Porto Executive Academy (P.PORTO).

She is an Assistant Professor at the School of Health of the Polytechnic University of Porto (E2S P.PORTO) and a researcher at the Centre for Rehabilitation Research – Psychosocial Rehabilitation Laboratory (CIR-LABRP). She is a member of the Northern Regional Mental Health Coordination Committee and an accredited Sociodrama Director certified by the Portuguese Psychodrama Society.

Her main areas of interest include mental health, psychosocial rehabilitation, lifestyle redesign, stigma associated with mental illness, community psychiatry, and innovative community-based interventions.
