Project Overview

WE-MIND is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project that supports universities in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina in strengthening student mental health through digital innovation and inclusive education. The project modernizes how mental health literacy and support are incorporated into university life through online learning, faculty training, peer mentorship, and a multilingual digital mental health platform, working closely with students, mental health professionals, and EU partners.

WE-MIND aligns with the European Commission’s Global Gateway strategy by strengthening healthcare-related capacities, advancing digital solutions, and promoting inclusive education. It is grounded in core European Union values of human dignity, freedom, equality, and inclusion, and draws on the European Pillar of Social Rights, emphasizing the right to education, equal opportunities, and access to mental health support.

By embedding these principles into institutional practices and learning environments, WE-MIND contributes to more inclusive and resilient higher education systems and supports broader EU goals for social inclusion and equity in the Western Balkans.

Our Objectives

WE-MIND works toward six interconnected objectives:

Strengthen Mental Health Literacy

Support students, faculty, and staff by integrating mental health education into university learning and everyday academic life.

Improve Digital Mental Health Support

Expand access to support through a multilingual digital mental health platform and trained student peer mentors.

Advance Digital and Innovative Learning

Build digital skills and innovative teaching practices that link student wellbeing with digital transformation in higher education.

Empower Students and Future Leaders

Develop mentorship, peer support, and innovation skills that support students’ personal growth, confidence, and employability.

Promote Inclusion and Equity

Build digital skills and innovative teaching practices that link student wellbeing with digital transformation in higher education.

Strengthen Regional and EU Collaboration

Foster knowledge sharing, faculty exchange, and long-term academic partnerships across the Western Balkans and the EU.

By connecting mental health, digital innovation, inclusion, and student development, WE-MIND supports universities in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina in innovating their support systems and creating learning environments where student wellbeing and academic success go hand in hand.

Our Consortium
